Accra:Al-Maliki emphasized the need to strengthen the capabilities of Iraq’s armed forces and protect the country’s sovereignty. Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, highlighted the importance of these efforts in a meeting on Monday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Maliki met with Minister of Defense Nayef al-Shammari to congratulate him on gaining the confidence of the Council of Representatives. During the meeting, Al-Maliki reiterated the necessity of enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces, consolidating security and stability, and supporting the military establishment in fulfilling its national duties. These measures aim to improve Iraq’s capacity to address security challenges and protect its citizens.

The Minister of Defense expressed gratitude to Al-Maliki, emphasizing the importance of national efforts to support the armed forces and maintain security and stability in order to safeguard Iraq and its sovereignty.
