Al-Minaa Secures Commanding 3-0 Victory Over Al-Gharafa in Iraqi Stars League


Basra: Al-Minaa continued their winning streak, securing a well-deserved 3-0 victory over Al-Gharafa in a match held Wednesday evening at Al-Fayhaa Stadium, as part of the third round of the Iraqi Stars League.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Minaa dominated from the outset, with Karrar Jaafar opening the scoring in the eighth minute, capitalizing on his team’s pressure and possession. Ahmed Abdul Hussein added a second goal in the 23rd minute, as Al-Minaa continued to press forward, seeking to extend their lead. Al-Gharafa attempted to reduce the deficit, but their efforts were unsuccessful, and the first half ended with Al-Minaa leading 2-0.



In the second half, Al-Minaa maintained their pressure, and their striker, Yassin Samia, missed a clear scoring opportunity in the 50th minute after Al-Gharafa’s goalkeeper, Hussein Ali, made a crucial save. Al-Gharafa tried to get back into the game and regain possession, but they were met by a well-organized Al-Minaa defense led by Saad Natiq. The two teams exchanged attacks during the remaining minutes of the match.



Before the end of the match, Abdulrazzaq Qasim unleashed a powerful shot that found the back of Al-Gharafa’s net, scoring the third goal in the final minute. The referee’s final whistle confirmed Al-Minaa’s 3-0 victory over Al-Gharafa. With this win, Al-Minaa raised their points tally to 7, while Al-Gharafa remained on 4 points.
