Baghdad: The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, recently chaired a crucial security meeting aimed at discussing the strategies and measures in place to ensure the safety of the upcoming commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Joint Operations Command issued a statement detailing the agenda of the meeting, which was held at the command headquarters. It involved the participation of command staff bodies and several officers who deliberated on the implementation of the National Security Council’s recommendations and decisions, specifically those outlined in Decision No. 1 for the year 2025. This decision was formulated under the leadership of the Prime Minister, who also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The meeting further addressed the progress made in tackling ISIS terrorist elements and discussed advancements in intelligence operations. Lieutenant General Al-Muhammadawi engaged with attendees through discussions and interventions aimed at enhancing security and stability measures.

He emphasized the necessity for cohesive efforts to adhere to established military plans and protocols. Highlighting the significance of training and capacity building, Al-Muhammadawi underscored the importance of learning from past errors, developing skills, and utilizing resources effectively based on specialization. Additionally, he outlined a timetable linked to specific responsibilities for the execution of decisions ratified during the meeting, along with a series of recommendations intended to fortify security and intelligence operations within designated areas of responsibility.
