Baghdad: Al-Mustansiriya University has taken a significant step in expanding its academic offerings by introducing two new departments: Tourism Marketing at the College of Tourism Sciences and International Law at the College of Law for the academic year 2026-2027. The university’s President, Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, congratulated the departments on their establishment, highlighting their alignment with labor market demands and modern educational trends.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the university’s media office released a statement detailing a meeting between the university president and the deans of the respective colleges. During the meeting, President Al-Issawi commended the academic, administrative, and technical efforts that facilitated the creation of these departments. He emphasized the importance of the new Department of Tourism Marketing in equipping students with the skills needed for tourism marketing, destination management, and tourism services, reflecting the rapid developments in the tourism sector.
Al-Issawi also noted the establishment of the International Law Department at the College of Law as a response to the increasing demand for advanced legal specializations. This initiative aims to prepare students for careers in international law and legal relations, thereby enriching the college’s academic and specialized offerings.
The university president reiterated that these advancements are part of Al-Mustansiriya University’s broader vision to expand academic programs and introduce specialized fields that meet labor market needs. The goal is to enhance educational quality and outcomes to align with scientific and professional changes, thereby strengthening students’ opportunities for successful academic and professional careers.
The deans of the Colleges of Law and Tourism Sciences expressed their appreciation for the university administration’s ongoing support.
