Al-Sahhaf Announces Return of 25 Kurdish Migrants from Libya


Erbil: 25 Kurdish migrants are set to return to Erbil from Libya after being detained in a Libyan prison. The group, consisting of young Kurds from the Kurdistan Region, is expected to arrive at Erbil International Airport early Wednesday morning.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Charg© d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, has confirmed the safe return of the migrants. In a video message shared with Rudaw Media Network, Al-Sahhaf assured the families of the detained individuals of their good health and safety. He mentioned that some of the migrants had already been in contact with their families to convey their well-being.



Al-Sahhaf further explained that upon their arrival in Erbil, the migrants will be reunited with their families. Additionally, a representative from the Kurdistan Region’s Department of Foreign Relations is set to receive them in Turkey, ensuring their smooth transit back home.
