Baghdad: At least 18 people, including children, have been killed, and others injured due to attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces in North Kordofan State. These attacks have heightened concerns over the escalating violence in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Rapid Support Forces carried out significant attacks on villages in Bara, North Kordofan. This offensive occurred simultaneously with the Sudanese army’s advance on the city, which is located 40 kilometers from El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State.

The International Organization for Migration has reported that 3,260 families have been displaced from the villages of Umm Qirfa, Al-Markha, and Umm Tarakish in Bara locality. The displacement is attributed to the growing insecurity in the area, further compounding the humanitarian crisis.
