Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed the government’s continued support for government and private shelters. A statement from his media office said that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani laid the foundation stone for the Social House for Creativity project on Tuesday to care for the elderly in the capital, Baghdad. This project complements the activities of the Iraqi House for Creativity for the care of orphaned children, managed by Hisham al-Dhahabi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani offered Eid greetings to the children of the Iraqi House for Orphan Care Foundation, urging them to work hard in their studies to build a better future for themselves. He praised the efforts of those working on such charitable projects.

He stressed the need for dedication and good service in all shelters, both governmental and private. The Prime Minister affirmed that the government will continue to support these humanitarian projects, since the elderly beneficiaries have been experiencing difficult circumstances. He also affirmed the support of the Iraqi House for Creativity Foundation, based on the principle of solidarity and partnership between the state, society, and the private sector, in all humanitarian, social, and charitable projects.

The Council of Ministers had approved the allocation of a plot of land in Zayouna area, east of Baghdad, to establish a social home project for the care of the elderly, and the allocation of 500 million dinars to support the project, which is scheduled to be completed at the end of this year.
