Baghdad: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, commemorated the anniversary of Iraq’s victory over terrorism. On this day eight years ago, the Iraqi flag was once again raised on soil liberated from Takfiri terrorism, marking a significant triumph that continues to fill Iraqis with pride and honor.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani emphasized the unity and national values that rallied patriots from across Iraqi provinces, towns, and districts. These individuals, driven by love for their country, stood together as one, guided by the fatwa of the Supreme Religious Authority, which played a crucial role in galvanizing their resolve until the decisive victory.

Al-Sudani highlighted the unwavering commitment of Iraq’s armed forces, who defied expectations and demonstrated that the men of Mesopotamia cannot be defeated. He affirmed that terrorist organizations cannot evade justice for their crimes against Iraqis, and the dreams of those who wished for division and fragmentation have been buried.

Reflecting on the victory, al-Sudani paid tribute to the martyrs whose sacrifices have contributed to Iraq’s current stability, security, and prosperity. He stressed the importance of using their legacy to drive the reconstruction and preservation of Iraq, building a nation for future generations.

The Commander-in-Chief reiterated Iraq’s determination to serve its people and pursue progress in all areas of development. He declared that anyone who underestimates the unity and resilience of Iraqis or seeks to instill fear is mistaken, as the spirit of the Iraqi people remains unbreakable.
