Iran: Silence Does Not Erase Genocide; the World Must Confront the Crimes in Gaza

Baghdad: Iran stressed that "the crime of genocide cannot be erased by silence," emphasizing that "the international community has a duty to take urgent and collective action to put an end to this crime, especially those committed by Israel, and to protect the dignity of the victims."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irvani, affirmed during his speech at the General Assembly session dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the "International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide," his country's unwavering commitment to confronting the crime of genocide and preventing its recurrence.

The Iranian diplomat explained that his country, as one of the co-sponsors of the UN resolution on this day, reaffirms its respect for the victims of genocide, noting that their suffering compels the international community to take decisive stances based on clear moral principles.
