Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sent a congratulatory cable to Friedrich Merz on his swearing-in as the new Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Al-Sudani extended his sincere wishes for Merz’s success in his duties and expressed hopes for enhanced cooperation and friendship between Iraq and Germany across economic, developmental, and cultural fields.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani’s message emphasized Iraq’s openness to developing more fruitful partnerships and constructive cooperation with Germany and other European Union countries. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve regional and global stability and peace, and the pursuit of strategic agreements that align with the interests of both nations and their peoples.
