Al-Sudani Emphasizes Securing National Interests and Mutual Respect in International Relations


London: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani highlighted the Iraqi government’s commitment to prioritize national interests and establish relations based on mutual respect and benefit. This statement was made during a dialogue seminar organized by the Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House, in London as part of his official visit to the United Kingdom.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani discussed the government’s launch of an executive program aimed at implementing radical reforms across developmental, service, and infrastructure sectors to rebuild Iraq and enhance citizens’ quality of life. Critical measures highlighted include the fight against corruption and reform of the financial and banking systems to create a favorable environment for business and investment.



The Prime Minister underscored the significance of supporting the private sector, which is a key objective of the government’s program. This initiative seeks to promote economic growth through a genuine partnership between public and private sectors to achieve targeted goals. Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq’s sovereignty and the welfare of its people are non-negotiable.



Additionally, al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s crucial role in regional stability, fostering balanced relationships, particularly with Iran and the United States. He emphasized the importance of collaboration to maintain security in the region by supporting Syria’s unity, assisting Lebanon’s stability, and promoting calm in the Palestinian territories.
