Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani emphasized the critical role of the media in portraying the authentic image of various events and issues during a meeting with the Gulf Media Union delegation. The meeting was attended by several journalists and artists from Gulf countries, who shared their insights on Iraq’s ongoing development and reconstruction efforts.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister highlighted the influence of media, art, and sports in fostering connections among people, citing the recent Gulf 25 tournament in Basra as a testament to unity and interaction among the participating nations. He reiterated the need for media to responsibly and objectively address issues of Arab public interest, steering clear of misinformation that serves limited agendas.
Al-Sudani underscored the media’s pivotal role in building modern societies, enhancing their future, and contributing to developmental progress. Delegation members expressed gratitude for the Iraqi government’s support of the media and cultural sectors and thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception they received during their visit.
