Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting and sponsoring health institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health, the holy shrines, and the private sector.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office revealed that Al-Sudani met with a delegation from the Warith Charitable Foundation, linked to the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. The meeting discussed the operations and development mechanisms of Al-Warith Hospital for the Treatment of Cancer Tumors, emphasizing its role in providing treatment for cancer patients.

Al-Sudani reiterated the government’s commitment to backing health institutions connected to various sectors, emphasizing the importance of providing all necessary facilities to enhance the operations of Al-Warith Hospital. This effort aims to elevate the quality of medical services accessible to all Iraqis.

The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for charitable efforts and highlighted the need to bolster cooperation with the private health and pharmaceutical sectors. He noted significant progress in this area, including the initiation of registration for a cancer treatment drug factory in Karbala for six new drugs. Additionally, two factories are under construction, one in Baghdad and another in Basra, marking important advancements in the health sector.
