Baghdad: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the army’s capabilities and its national role. Al-Sudani made this declaration on the 104th anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi army, highlighting the institution’s importance as a defender against terrorism and a key component of the democratic constitutional structure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani shared his message on the X platform, reiterating that the government remains dedicated to developing the army and all formations of the armed forces. He acknowledged the honorable battles fought by the heroic army, which have been instrumental in preserving Iraq’s security, stability, and sovereignty. The government pledges to continue support for the army, recognizing the sacrifices made by the martyrs who have kept Iraq’s name high.
