Basra: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed: “The reconstruction and development process is ongoing in Iraq.” In a speech during the inauguration and launch of three industrial projects in Basra, al-Sudani emphasized the significance of these projects in reinforcing Basra’s status as the economic capital of Iraq and creating job opportunities for its residents.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani highlighted that these projects are planned to be completed to the highest specifications, providing a valuable opportunity for engineers and technicians to gain experience. He announced the launch of the implementation work for the largest industrial city on the development path in Basra, underlining that the industrial city project has undergone extensive discussions.

The Prime Minister further stated that project contracts will ensure 50% of local job opportunities, with the Basra Chlorine and Caustic Soda Production Plant project alone expected to create approximately 500 jobs. He reiterated Basra’s economic importance, mentioning its strategic projects in various sectors and noting that the industrial city has a seafront of approximately 500 meters on Khor Al-Zubair.
