Baghdad: The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu’man, confirmed on Friday that the first 100 days of the government of Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi established a new phase of security stability, noting that the monopoly of weapons and the decision of war and peace are exclusive entitlements of the official security and military institutions.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Nu’man stated, “The first hundred days were not merely a passing evaluation period; rather, they provided a framework for moving the security file from crisis management toward rebuilding state authority, consolidating its sovereignty, and laying the foundations for a new phase of security and stability.”

He further explained that the vision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces was grounded in a constitutional principle, emphasizing that protecting national security and controlling weapons and decisions of war and peace fall under the exclusive responsibilities of official security and mi
litary institutions, ensuring these matters are not subject to fragmentation or interpretation.

Al-Nu’man highlighted that recent field measures led to a comprehensive review of the leadership structure, introducing new personnel in key field and intelligence positions. This initiative aimed to continue the progress of predecessors during critical moments in Iraq’s history, ultimately enhancing response times and improving the preventive readiness of military units.

Furthermore, he noted that these efforts were synchronized with a strategic push to secure Iraq’s borders with neighboring countries and the acquisition of advanced radar and air defense systems. Intelligence plans were also activated to foresee and mitigate potential threats.

Al-Nu’man emphasized that Iraq’s security decision-making has become more robust and independent, with military institutions attaining peak levels of discipline and readiness to safeguard national sovereignty and maintain the country’s stability.
