Baghdad: Al-Zaydi has agreed to allocate a percentage of job positions in the Interior and Defense Ministries to orphans residing in care homes.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi has approved the initiative. The allocation will be available to orphans who have reached eighteen years of age and meet the necessary legal and physical requirements for employment in these ministries.

Dhikra Abdul Rahim, head of the Commission, highlighted the significance of this approval, stating, "This approval represents a true fruit of the Commission's efforts in following up on the issues of orphans." She emphasized that empowering orphans and providing them with opportunities that ensure their dignity and stability is a primary concern for the Ministry.

Abdul Rahim further elaborated that the allocation of these positions will not only offer orphans a stable source of income but also enhance their ability to build a future and become self-reliant. Moreover, this decision allows them to contribute their capabilities in the service of the nation.

She concluded by noting that this initiative underscores the government's and Ministry's commitment to transforming the challenges faced by orphans into a narrative of success, providing them with confidence and hope for the future.
