Amidi Reaffirms Iraq’s Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability


Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi affirmed Iraq’s unwavering commitment to ending conflicts and resolving the crises plaguing the region. In a statement, the Presidency said that the President met today at Baghdad Palace with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and his accompanying delegation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the latest developments on the regional and international scenes, as well as prospects for bilateral relations and ways to develop them in a manner that serves the common interests of both nations and the overall well-being of the region.



President Amidi emphasized Iraq’s steadfast support for all efforts aimed at ending conflicts and resolving regional crises, highlighting the necessity of adopting constructive dialogue and diplomatic channels to address outstanding issues. He stressed the importance of establishing foundations for lasting security, development, and stability.



The President further noted Iraq’s support for measures that contribute to strengthening regional peace and preserving the sovereignty and independence of states. He underscored the importance of prioritizing wisdom and peaceful solutions in settling disputes, safeguarding the security and sovereignty of nations, and avoiding escalation and the use of force due to its serious repercussions on security and peace.



Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf expressed his country’s appreciation and pride in the deep historical relations between the two neighboring peoples and countries. He emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s keenness on coordination and joint cooperation with Iraq in various fields.
