BAGHDAD: The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the operations sector on the Iraqi-Syrian border’s northern sector. The visit, conducted on Sunday evening, involved a detailed assessment of the first and second regiments of the 27th Infantry Brigade of the 7th Infantry Division. Yarallah was accompanied by senior military officials, including the Operations Assistant, the Commander of the Land Forces, the Commander of Al-Jazeera Operations, the Commander of the 7th Division, the Assistant Director of Military Intelligence, and the Secretary of the Intelligence of the Chief of Staff of the Army.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the inspection began with visits to the second and fourth companies of the first infantry regiment, followed by an inspection of the third company of the third infantry regiment. These visits were aimed at evaluating the openness of the units, fortification of the towers, level of combat readiness, and the administrative support provided to the soldiers. Lieutenant General Yarallah continued his visit with an inspection of the regiment headquarters to assess the readiness of the units and their presence along the dividing borders.

Additionally, the inspection included a visit to the headquarters of the 7th Infantry Division in Al-Qaim. During this visit, the division’s commander offered a comprehensive briefing on the tasks, functions, and unit distribution along the borders. The briefing also covered future operational plans and highlighted key obstacles impacting the progress of military operations in the region.
