Atroushi Highlights Need for Sustainable Solutions for Displaced Persons


Erbil: On World Humanitarian Day, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad Atroushi called for sustainable solutions to the issue of displaced persons that guarantee them a dignified and safe life. In a statement issued on the occasion, Atroushi emphasized the importance of honoring civil society workers, volunteers, relief teams, and supporting entities on this day, in appreciation and recognition of their humanitarian role and their continuous work to protect society and show solidarity with those affected by disasters and crises.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament praised the exceptional efforts of the Kurdistan Regional Government, which has set an important example in responding to crises and disasters. The government has accommodated hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and refugees, providing them with aid and essential services in cooperation with the federal government and international and local organizations.



Atroushi called for continued international support and enhanced coordination between Baghdad and Erbil. He stressed the importance of working towards sustainable solutions for the displaced persons issue, ensuring a dignified and safe life for their families, and creating appropriate conditions for their return to their original areas.
