Hillah: The Musayyib District Police, north of Hillah, have successfully apprehended a young man accused of attempting to blackmail a girl via social media in exchange for money. The arrest took place on Sunday, marking a swift response to the cybercrime incident.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Major General Adel Al-Husseini, the Babylon Police Media Director, stated that the Musayyib District Police collaborated with the National Security to lure the suspect from the Mahmoudiyah District, located south of Baghdad. The suspect had allegedly used social media platforms to threaten and extort the victim financially.

The authorities have since transferred the accused to the relevant bodies for further investigation, ensuring that the matter is handled with the necessary legal procedures.
