Baghdad: The Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Musa Kadhim, has inaugurated the Al-Habibiya and Al-Khadra main sewage pumping stations following the completion of their rehabilitation works. This significant development is part of the efforts by the Baghdad Municipality to enhance the sewage system and improve the infrastructure within the capital.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the rehabilitation of these stations was funded by the World Bank. The Al-Habibiya station is designed to serve five municipalities on the Rusafa side, while the Al-Khadra station is set to improve sewage services on the Karkh side. Both stations have been equipped with modern electronic operation and control systems, advanced odor treatment and removal systems, as well as generators to ensure uninterrupted operation. Additionally, they feature new pumps and equipment to optimize their functionality.
