Baghdad: Mayor Ammar Musa Kadhim has announced that all departments and staff of the Baghdad Municipality are mobilized to provide optimal services to pilgrims within the capital.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this initiative is part of the ongoing implementation of the service plan for the Arba'een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The mayor highlighted during a field visit to the Baghdad-Babylon road that the mobilization involves comprehensive efforts from the municipality to support the central service plan in the holy provinces of Karbala and Najaf. He emphasized the commitment of Baghdad Municipality's staff, who are working tirelessly to serve the pilgrims, driven by their national and humanitarian responsibility.

Baghdad serves as a crucial starting and transit point for pilgrims heading to Karbala, necessitating a thorough service plan that includes the deployment of municipal vehicles and personnel. These efforts focus on cleaning services, waste removal, and maintenance of roads and green spaces, ensuring a smooth journey for the pilgrims.

The mayor also mentioned the municipality's collaboration with the Central Service Committee to aid pilgrims in Karbala and Najaf. The service plan covers all pilgrim routes within Baghdad, such as Al-Rashid, Al-Dora, and Al-Kadhimiyah, with round-the-clock municipal services.

Additionally, the Kadhimiya Municipality has a special plan to cater to visitors of the shrines of Imams Musa al-Kadhim and Muhammad al-Jawad (peace be upon them) in Kadhimiya, both before and after their pilgrimage to Karbala. This plan ensures continuous service efforts to offer the best possible services to visitors.

The mayor reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining these services throughout the pilgrimage period, applauding the municipality's staff for their dedication and coordination with supporting agencies to deliver exemplary services to the pilgrims.
