Baghdad Operations Command Arrests Accused in Fraud and Murder Cases


Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces have successfully apprehended an individual accused of defrauding citizens and another involved in murder, along with a group of violators of the Residence and Nationality Department regulations. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the region.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command’s statement revealed that forces from the 17th Infantry Division, along with the First, Second, and Fifth Federal Police Divisions, conducted security operations resulting in the arrest of nine individuals. These individuals are accused of attempted murder and involvement in tribal conflicts. During the operations, weapons were confiscated from the suspects.



In addition to the arrests related to murder and fraud, authorities also apprehended an individual practicing “magic and sorcery,” accused of defrauding citizens. The operation extended to the arrest of 13 individuals violating the conditions and controls set by the Residence and Nationality Department across various locations on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.



The Baghdad Operations Command has referred those arrested to the competent authorities to ensure that the necessary legal procedures are completed.
