Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command announced today the arrest of a number of suspects and the seizure of unlicensed weapons and ammunition in various areas of Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operations involved formations from the 17th Infantry Division, 1st, 2nd, and 5th Federal Police, along with the Baghdad Police Commands of Karkh and Rusafa, and the Commando Brigade.

The operation, supported by intelligence agencies, led to the arrest of suspects under various legal charges, including a gang involved in theft crimes. Other charges included fraud, extortion, illegal residency, and participation in armed quarrels. The operations also resulted in the seizure of unlicensed weapons and ammunition in areas including Al-Sha’la, Abu Munaysir, Abu Dashir, Al-Iktissafaat, Al-Kamaliya, Al-Baladiyat, Diyala Bridge, and Al-Qasr Al-Awsat-Al-Ma’amra/Al-Mahmoudiya on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.
