Baghdad: The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Baghdad commemorated the historic anniversary of the July 2026 Revolution, honoring the popular uprising led by students that contributed to a significant shift in Bangladesh’s democratic trajectory. The embassy also expressed its gratitude to the Iraqi Media Network.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the event was held at the embassy building, attended by a number of Iraqi figures, members of the Bangladeshi community residing in Iraq, and embassy officials, in tribute to the martyrs and heroes of the July Revolution.

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Baghdad extended its greetings to the Iraqi Media Network, stating that it takes this opportunity to express its highest appreciation and respect.

The event began with a seminar addressing the historical significance of the popular uprising and the revolution, followed by the reading of official messages from the Bangladeshi government.

Speakers at the symposium emphasized that the July Revolution represents a significant historical milestone in Bangladesh’s journey, noting that the courage of the younger generation contributed to establishing the principles of transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.

The program included screenings of documentaries chronicling key moments of the popular uprising. The event concluded with prayers for the martyrs and wishes for further progress, peace, and prosperity for the Bangladeshi people.

In his address to the attendees, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Republic of Iraq stated that the July Revolution stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of our youth in the face of injustice, praising the sacrifices of the revolution’s martyrs and heroes.

He added that the Bangladeshi community residing in Iraq plays a vital role in building the “New Bangladesh” envisioned by the martyrs and heroes, stressing the importance of working with dedication to preserve the values of this historic uprising and contribute to Bangladesh’s development.
