Baghdad: The President of Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani announced on Wednesday that his constructive meeting with Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi was fruitful, emphasizing the region's backing for the execution of the government's agenda.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Barzani shared details of the meeting held in Baghdad via a post on X. He stated that during the discussions, they addressed the country's overall situation and its challenges, while also reviewing recent regional and international developments and their effects on Iraq.
In his statement, Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Region's commitment to supporting collaborative efforts aimed at successfully implementing the government's program. This includes serving the interests of all Iraqi people and fulfilling commitments to the public, such as comprehensive economic reform, limiting arms to state control, accelerating national priorities, enhancing security and stability, promoting development, and improving public services.
Barzani further noted that both leaders underscored the necessity of unifying positions, increasing efforts, and improving coordination among state institutions. These efforts aim to protect the country from challenges and risks, preserve its sovereignty and stability, and align with the aspirations of the Iraqi people for a more secure and prosperous future.
