Basra: The Basra Criminal Court has handed down a life imprisonment sentence to a drug dealer for the crime of trafficking in narcotics.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council disclosed in a press release that the convicted individual was found in possession of 1.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and hashish. These substances were intended for sale to users. The court’s judgment was made pursuant to Article 27/First of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
