Basra: The Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, has issued a stern warning to citizens regarding the spread of false information about the residential land plot initiative on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. He assured the public that the application process will be conducted electronically under the direct oversight of the Prime Minister’s office to maintain transparency and fairness.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Eidani, in an audio statement, emphasized that the Basra local government has completed the necessary preparations, including mapping and identifying plots for the million-plot land initiative. He clarified that any official announcements regarding the initiative will be made exclusively by the Prime Minister. Al-Eidani debunked rumors about direct applications or symbolic pricing being promoted by unauthorized individuals, highlighting that the initiative is subject to strict auditing procedures.
The Governor further explained that applications must be submitted through a designated official website, prioritizing individuals without any real estate ownership. He detailed that all applications will be thoroughly audited in collaboration with judicial departments, the Ministry of Justice, and other relevant bodies to ensure the rightful allocation of land. The initiative also includes plans for comprehensive infrastructure development at these sites.
Al-Eidani urged Basra’s residents to rely on official sources for information, stating that the initiative aims to provide adequate housing for all Iraqis without homes and is free from exploitation or misinformation.
