Basra: The Governor of Basra is personally monitoring the flow of visitors and services at the Shalamja border crossing. Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, accompanied by the head of the Provincial Council’s Security Committee, Aqeel Al-Fariji, visited the Shalamcheh border crossing to monitor the flow of pilgrims and the level of services provided at the crossing in preparation for the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit, which also included Basra Traffic Director Major General Ali Mohsen, Civil Status Director Brigadier General Anwar Youssef Makki, and Basra Municipality Director Firas Abdul-Khaliq, included several Husseini processions at the crossing. Al-Eidani stressed the need to maintain vigilance and intensify efforts to provide the best possible services to pilgrims arriving through Shalamcheh throughout the Arba’een pilgrimage.
