Basra: The Integrity Committee of the Basra Provincial Council has made the decision to summon the Director of Projects at the Basra Health Department. This action is in response to the delay concerning the receipt of three oxygen production plants, which have already been imported and completed but are yet to be received.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Committee Chairwoman Baidaa Al-Nahi released a statement indicating that the oxygen plants are intended for Basra Teaching Hospital, Al-Qurna Hospital, and Al-Madina General Hospital. The delay in receiving and operating these plants has led to a continued reliance on purchasing oxygen from other sources, potentially resulting in the wastage of public funds.
Al-Nahi noted that the committee has been inundated with complaints and appeals regarding the severe oxygen shortage affecting several hospitals in Basra. She emphasized the need to expedite the receipt and operation of the plants to help address the oxygen shortage, preserve public funds, and ensure that this crucial resource is available to patients in need.
