Basra: A member of parliament, Amer Abdul-Jabbar, has honored the Al-Minaa football club’s first team with a financial reward of 20 million Iraqi dinars. This gesture is intended to provide support and motivation for the team as they strive for positive results in the Iraqi Stars League.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Al-Minaa team resumed training at the Basra Sports City stadiums this evening. This follows a period of protest from the players, who had refused to train due to the club’s ongoing financial crisis and the delay in receiving their salaries. Despite assurances from officials, the financial issues remain unresolved.

During today’s training session, MP Amer Abdul-Jabbar met with Al-Minaa fans, who expressed their gratitude for his financial contribution to the team. The meeting also included discussions about the team’s current situation, the club’s administrative challenges, and the most pressing issues facing Al-Minaa in the near future.

The interim administrative board of Al-Minaa Club, led by Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, plans to convene within the next 48 hours. The board aims to address the problems plaguing the club, work towards resolving outstanding issues, and develop suitable solutions to ensure the club’s stability and success.

Al-Minaa has had a promising start in the Iraqi Stars League, beginning with a 0-0 draw against Al-Zawraa, followed by a 2-1 victory over Zakho and a 3-0 win against Al-Gharaf. However, they recently faced a 2-0 defeat to Erbil, bringing their total to seven points.
