According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra Police Command stated in a statement: "Security forces affiliated with the Police Command carried out a series of security operations within the framework of the regional security plan, during which a number of individuals wanted for various cases were arrested, including legal matters related to murder, fights, and assaults. A Kalashnikov was also seized from one of the suspects in al-Qibla area."

The Basra Police Command confirmed, according to the statement: "These efforts come within the ongoing context of enforcing the rule of law and enhancing stability, calling on citizens to cooperate with security forces and report any cases of concern to preserve the security and safety of all."
