Basra Provincial Council Head Details Delegation Visit to Iran


Basra: The head of the Basra Provincial Council, Khalaf Lafteh al-Badran, has provided insights into his recent visit to the Iranian cities of Abadan and Isfahan, where he led an official delegation. The visit was in response to an invitation extended to officials, businessmen, and athletes, aiming to foster bilateral relations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Badran specified that the delegation comprised heads of committees focused on health, reconstruction, and economic development, alongside the sports and youth committee. The invitation was issued by the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, which also included several businessmen and athletes from Basra. Al-Badran took care to clarify that no government employees were part of the delegation and that the Provincial Council did not incur any costs. The inviting party fully covered travel and accommodation expenses.



Al-Badran highlighted that the meetings in Iran aimed to enhance joint cooperation, particularly benefiting Basra Governorate in areas such as health, reconstruction, trade, and sports. He noted that the visit yielded positive outcomes across these sectors.
