Kidnapped Woman Rescued and Abductor Arrested in Maysan


Baghdad: A kidnapped woman was freed, and her kidnapper arrested in Maysan. The anti-crime units in Maysan successfully managed to free the kidnapped woman and arrest her abductor.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Maysan Police Command detailed that the Anti-Crime Division executed a series of investigations and field intelligence activities. These efforts led to identifying the suspect’s location. Security detachments then set up a well-planned ambush, during which they were able to apprehend the suspect, free the kidnapped woman, and seize a pistol in his possession.



The statement further disclosed that the investigation revealed the suspect was wanted under Article (406) of the Penal Code at a police station in Baghdad, facing charges related to two previous murders. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the requesting authority for legal action, with the safety of the kidnapped woman confirmed and all necessary investigative and legal procedures completed.
