Basra: The head of the Basra Provincial Council, Khalaf al-Badran, received Ali Abedi, the Consul of the Islamic Republic of Iran, marking the conclusion of Abedi’s diplomatic mission in Basra.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the council’s media office released a statement highlighting that the meeting underscored the strong bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran. The statement emphasized Basra’s pivotal role in enhancing cooperation and historical ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, al-Badran expressed gratitude for the contributions made by the Iranian Consul during his tenure. He praised the cooperation and assistance provided to the province and wished Abedi success in his future endeavors.

The Iranian Consul, Ali Abedi, reciprocated by expressing his thanks to the head and members of the Basra Provincial Council. He acknowledged the council’s excellent cooperation and communication and commended its effective role in serving the province, promoting stability, and fostering development.
