Basra Seeks Advanced Technologies for Water Management


Basra: The Deputy Governor of Basra, speaking from China, emphasized the province’s need for advanced technologies to effectively manage its water resources. Hassan Thahir al-Najjar, the Deputy Governor, is currently visiting China with delegations from several Arab countries to explore innovative water management solutions.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Najjar, along with delegations from Iraq, Jordan, Mauritania, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia, visited the Tianxingjian Water Company in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into the company’s expertise in irrigation technologies, water treatment, and comprehensive water resource management. A seminar was held during the visit, facilitating discussions between the company’s management and the visiting delegations.



Al-Najjar conveyed that the delegations were provided with a detailed overview of smart water management systems, which utilize data monitoring, intelligent analysis, and digital technologies for efficient water resource management. He extended an invitation to Tianxingjian Water Company, in coordination with the Chinese Embassy in Baghdad, to collaborate on exchanging expertise and leveraging modern technologies. Al-Najjar reiterated the necessity for Basra to adopt advanced water management systems that are both modern and efficient.



The delegations also toured the company’s facilities and visited the Shangyu Rural Water Project to observe the latest technologies employed in agriculture and water management.
