Hilla: The body of a young man was recovered from the Euphrates River north of Hilla. The river police of the Babil Police Command recovered the body of young Muslim Aqeel from the Euphrates River on Tuesday. He was a resident of the Teachers’ Quarter in the Umm al-Asafir area of Musayyib district, north of Hilla.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Babil Police Media Director, Colonel Ammar al-Shammari, stated, “After receiving a report, the river police were able to recover the body of Muslim Aqeel two hours after he drowned while swimming in the Euphrates River.” He added that the police transferred the body to the forensic medicine department, and an investigation into the incident has been opened.
