Zurbatiya: The Border Ports Authority has seized four vehicles at the Zurbatiya border crossing after they were found violating import regulations, leading to a significant loss of public funds.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Border Ports Authority spokesman, Alaa al-Qaisi, stated in a press release that the vehicles were intercepted at a search and inspection point outside the customs area. The vehicles, which were transporting marble, were found to have a weight discrepancy during inspection, resulting in a financial loss.
Alaa al-Qaisi further explained that an official seizure report has been prepared, and the vehicles have been transferred to the Zurbatiya Customs Police Station. The case will be presented before the investigating judge at the Badra Court to initiate necessary legal actions against those responsible for the violations.
