Baghdad: The Border Forces Command announced the arrest of 44 Asian nationals who attempted to illegally cross the borders in the provinces of Duhok and Wasit. The arrests were made public on Tuesday as part of the command's ongoing initiatives to combat illegal border crossings and smuggling activities.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the operations were conducted by the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Border Brigade and the support unit at the Zurbatiyah border crossing, which operates under the 20th Border Brigade. The migrants were apprehended while attempting to enter Iraq without proper authorization within the administrative boundaries of Duhok and Wasit provinces.
The Border Forces Command confirmed that official arrest reports were prepared, and appropriate legal procedures were initiated against the detainees. These actions are part of broader efforts to ensure border security and uphold legal entry processes into the country.
