Baghdad: Border Forces Commander Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdul Wahab arrived on Sunday at the Iraq-Syria-Jordan border triangle in western Anbar province: stressing the need to further strengthen security performance and operational readiness.

According to Iraqi News Agency, as part of his ongoing field visits to oversee areas of responsibility and assess readiness and preparedness on the ground, Commander Abdul Wahab visited the headquarters of the Second Border Region Command in Al-Waleed sub-district. This command is responsible for securing the Iraqi-Syrian border from the Euphrates River southwards.

The commander was accompanied by several staff officers and department directors and was received by Major General Khairallah Issa Urwa, commander of the Second Border Region. During his visit, Abdul Wahab held a security conference attended by commanders of formations and units, where he received a detailed briefing on the main security activities, readiness levels, and the key obstacles and challenges affecting operations.

He also inspected the Iraq-Syria-Jordan border triangle and emphasized the need to maintain efforts and raise the level of security performance to achieve the highest standards of efficiency in carrying out duties. As part of his field tour, Abdul Wahab inspected the Sixth Border Brigade, where he held another security conference to review operational duties and conditions on the ground. He met with personnel, heard their requests and needs, and directed relevant authorities to address them in accordance with legal and administrative regulations.
