Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has voted to suspend official work next Thursday to observe the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this decision is in recognition of the significant religious event that draws millions of pilgrims to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. The Arbaeen pilgrimage is one of the largest gatherings in the world, marking the 40th day after the Day of Ashura, and holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for many in the region.

The suspension of work is expected to facilitate the participation of citizens in the pilgrimage and ensure public safety during the large-scale event.
