Baghdad: Dozens of graduates from the 2024 and 2025 classes of the College of Medicine in Diwaniyah Governorate held a protest at the Doctors Syndicate headquarters, demanding the approval of central appointments (Batch 25) and the issuance of a clear central appointment decision for the batch to permanent positions without delay. They also demanded the immediate release of the appointment form and the opening of the electronic appointment form for Batch 25 without any postponement.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the graduates called on the central government and the Ministry of Health to explicitly include allocations for Batch 25 in the budget and to include doctors from the 2024 class in the 2027 budget for the purpose of their permanent appointment. The Diwaniyah branch of the Doctors Syndicate confirmed that if the disregard continues and no concrete steps are taken, the syndicate and its members will be forced to take escalating measures guaranteed by the laws and regulations of the syndicate to protect the rights of doctors and ensure the continuity of the health system.
