Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed his country’s strong protest and absolute condemnation of the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, describing the incident as “a dangerous development affecting state sovereignty and regional stability.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Wang Yi stated that “the blatant killing of the leader of a sovereign state and the incitement to regime change are absolutely unacceptable,” underscoring Beijing’s commitment to the principles of respecting state sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
He further noted that attacking Iran during the negotiation period is unacceptable, emphasizing that his country’s position is to call for an immediate cessation of military operations and the containment of the escalation through diplomatic channels.
