Baghdad: President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping congratulated Iraq and the Arab countries on the success of the Arab Summit held in the capital, Baghdad, stressing that the second China-Arab Summit, to be held in China in 2026, will be another important milestone in the history of China-Arab relations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a letter sent to Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, Xi expressed his pleasure in extending sincere congratulations to the leaders of the Arab countries and the League of Arab States on the occasion of the 34th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level. He acknowledged the League's 80-year commitment to promoting unity and self-strengthening among the Arab world, voicing the unified stance of Arab countries, and working towards peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East.

Xi Jinping highlighted that amid significant global changes and complex developments in the Middle East, Arab countries have shown a commitment to independence, development, progress, and advocating justice and fairness. This commitment has positively contributed to the strengthening of the Global South's momentum.

The Chinese President remarked on the flourishing development of China-Arab relations in recent years, which serves as a model for solidarity and cooperation among developing nations. Reflecting on the first China-Arab States Summit in December 2022, Xi noted the unanimous agreement with Arab leaders to build a China-Arab community of shared future for the new era.

Looking ahead, Xi expressed confidence that the upcoming China-Arab States Summit in 2026 will be a significant milestone in China-Arab relations. He emphasized China's strategic and long-term perspective on relations with Arab countries, committing to remain a reliable friend and partner, and supporting just Arab causes. Xi reiterated China's eagerness to collaborate with Arab countries to deepen political trust, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation, and strengthen cultural communication, aiming to build a China-Arab community with a shared future at a higher level.
