Kadhimiya: The Civil Defense Directorate announced today that a fire in a fireworks warehouse in the city of Kadhimiya, Baghdad, has been successfully extinguished.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense teams managed to fully control and contain the blaze that consumed a house being utilized as a fireworks warehouse. The facility, spanning 250 square meters, was operating in violation of safety regulations and the Civil Defense requirements in the Al-Urouba Square area of Kadhimiya.
The Civil Defense Directorate’s statement also mentioned that an investigation has been requested at the local police station. A forensic expert has been summoned to ascertain the initial cause of the fire. Authorities aim to hold accountable those responsible for neglecting the occupational safety procedures issued by the Civil Defense Directorate, despite previous warnings.
