Baghdad: The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah al-Nu’man, has announced that Commander-in-Chief Ali Falih al-Zaidi is prioritizing the rapid advancement of air defense capabilities. This revelation was made during a press conference held by the Security Media Cell.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Nu’man responded to a correspondent’s question, explaining that there is an ongoing plan within the Ministry of Defense aimed at developing this crucial military branch. The plan’s timeline has been notably shortened from six years to three years following a recent visit by Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali al-Zaidi to the Air Defense Command headquarters.

Al-Nu’man further revealed that a dedicated fund has been established to financially support the air defense initiatives. Moreover, Iraq is set to be equipped with modern air defense systems in the near future, signaling a significant enhancement in the country’s defense infrastructure.
