Dubai: The Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage in Dubai recently hosted a delegation from the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, comprising Khalida Shehail, Head of the Archives Department at the Institute, Maitha Al Suwaidi, and Fouad Mohammed. The visit aimed at exploring collaborative opportunities in the field of electronic document archiving.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the delegation was received by Sheikha Al Mutairi, Head of the National Culture, Public Relations, and Media Department, Dr. Taha Mohammed Nour, Scientific Supervisor of Documents and Archives at the Center, along with several administrators. The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between the two institutions, particularly focusing on the Al Majid Electronic Archiving System for Documents and Images. The delegation was briefed on the system’s operational mechanisms and its capabilities in preserving, organizing, and accessing documents and images efficiently.

In addition to the discussions, the delegation toured various departments of the Center, including the “Journey of Giving” exhibition. They were introduced to the significant role Juma Al Majid has played in collecting books and manuscripts, as well as the agreements the Center has forged with numerous international cultural institutions and libraries. The visit also included the reference hall, where the delegation learned about the research services provided by the center. The tour concluded with a visit to the special libraries department, showcasing the Center’s prominent private libraries and their valuable and rare collections.
