Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has voted to amend its Resolution No. (20 of 2025), which pertains to the sale of residential lands owned by municipalities to individuals who constructed residential buildings on these lands before December 10, 2024.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the amendment includes several significant changes aimed at easing the process for these residents. Key among these changes is the introduction of installment payments over a 20-year period for properties that fall under this resolution, specifically within municipally-owned residential lands that are appropriately divided.

Additionally, the amendment removes the previous requirement that beneficiaries must have had prior benefits from the sale. Furthermore, it allows for the amortization of the fair rent amount if it is claimed as a government debt, providing more financial flexibility to those affected by the resolution.
