Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has approved an increase in the consulting contract amount for the development of the Basra refinery “crushing project”. This decision marks a significant step in enhancing the refinery’s operational capabilities.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Council also sanctioned several other financial adjustments during its session. Among the approvals was the increase in the reserve and total cost for the construction of the Al-Amiriya Municipality Directorate in Anbar Governorate, which includes furnishing, as part of the governorate’s budget.
Additionally, the Council gave the green light to create infrastructure components, such as rainwater drainage, sewage, and electricity supply, for a new 200-bed general hospital in Nahrawan, Baghdad. This project has been included in the investment budget tables of the Ministry of Health for the year 2024, with an increased total cost for these components.
The session further resulted in an increase in the reserve amount and total cost for establishing a 100-bed hospital in the Safwan district of Basra Governorate. These measures reflect the government’s commitment to improving healthcare and municipal services across the nation.
